BACKtoBACKLECTURES
BackToBackLectures
11.03.2025 / 17:00 / @./studio3
The ./studio3 warmly invites you to two short back-to-back lectures on Tuesday, March 11th, at 17:00.
City of Legends // Rooms, Webcams, and Social Networks
Luxury villas rented by TikTokers; an office tower turned into a training center for professional gamers; an underground capsule hotel monitored by over a hundred CCTV cameras; windowless streaming rooms; bedrooms where sleeping is impossible; domestic settings used for political video messages. These are just some of the spaces explored in City of Legends by Davide Tommaso Ferrando, a book investigating the new forms of domesticity shaped by digital communication technologies. Like a bestiary of contemporary living, the book offers a vision that is both familiar and unsettling, portraying the 21st-century home as a ‘cyborg space’ where what is private becomes public, what is inside becomes outside, what is intimate becomes collective, and what is hidden becomes visible.
POV: An (AB)NORMAL Point of View
Lecture by Luigi Savio of (AB)NORMAL
(AB)NORMAL is an interdisciplinary architecture studio based in Milan. At the core of its methodology is a strong commitment to research and interdisciplinarity, using the language of architecture to create diverse spatial solutions that reflect contemporary narratives. The studio’s distinct style and creative process are fueled by a deep interest in the tensions of modernity, integrating iconic elements with references to popular culture while exploring the implications of technological progress. The work of (AB)NORMAL tells stories of creative processes across disciplines, investigating the performative dimension of architecture and its interaction with human occupants in built environments.
The event is organized as part of this year’s Bachelor Studio Quiet: We Live in Public – Home in the Age of Spatial Computing and Social Networks.
See you there!
