The Self in the era of Post humanism

The aim of the course is to introduce the architecture students to the medium of art. To give them the tools to express themselves through an artistic approach.  Experiencing artistic processes to enhance their self-consciousness on one side and sensibility to their immediate surroundings and global changes on the other side. Taking position thoughts or feelings.

The course will start with a theoretical introduction to contemporary art to post humanism including the screening of works of significant contemporary artists directly to the theme.

Every student will propose a project and will be discussed by me and the other students.suggesting what is the right technique and why. The students will be consulted individually to provide the originality of their own world, in the choice of art techniques such as painting, drawing, photography. Sculpture, videos, sound, text, ready-made or multimedia installations.

The course will work as a group. Each student will be involved in the process of his colleagues.

Between the three meetings, students will be able to contact me through email or skype to every question or advice they need.

In the second meeting, we will conclude the final steps to the projects optimizing the expression of ideas.

During the course, we will exercise experimental drawings in and outdoors. Visiting together  Museums or exhibitions in related to the course

The third meeting will be dedicated to the final exhibition as the last step of the artistic process. The choice of space and developing redefining ideas and expression through the installation.

The final exhibition will be documented in a catalog with text and images of each participant.

During the semester the participants will get per email, input related to the course such as articles, videos, movies or Interviews related to the theme.
